About

This web site exist to bring glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Jesus is the light of the world, and His followers are to be a light for others.  Christians must lead by example, and that example is to always follow in the steps of Jesus. We should be an example in Him in every thought we take, every decision we make, and every breath we take.  Jesus must be the reason for our decisions every second, minute, and day.

Ephesians 5:8-14 HCSB

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.  Walk as children of light—  for the fruit of the light results in all goodness, righteousness, and truth— discerning what is pleasing to the Lord.  Don’t participate in the fruitless works of darkness, but instead expose them.  For it is shameful even to mention what is done by them in secret.  Everything exposed by the light is made clear, for what makes everything clear is light.  Therefore it is said: Get up, sleeper, and rise up from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you.

Darkness has two aspects. Intellectually it represents ignorance and falsehood, whereas morally it connotes evil.  People of the world have darkened minds. They profess to be wise when they are really fools. They deny the living God’s existence and worship false gods such as money and power.

Psalm 14:1

The fool says in his heart, “God does not exist.” They are corrupt; they do vile deeds. There is no one who does good.

The dark world is blinded to the light of the gospel.

In Scripture light also has the same two aspects, the intellectual and the moral. Intellectually it represents truth, whereas morally it represents holiness. To live in light therefore means to live in truth and in holiness.

Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path,” In this reference, “light” refers to intellectual truth as found in God’s Word.

Believers were once in darkness.  Believers are now in the light because they have been changed intellectually and morally.  There has to be definite character change in the life of every true believer.

In John 8:12, Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” In Psalm 27:1, God is called “light” and “salvation.” This is the character and nature of God our Father, and we have his nature.

How can believers continually imitate God by living in the light while residing in a dark world?

1.  To live with the light, believers must remember that light, not darkness, is their nature.

2.  To live with the light, believers must produce the fruit of light.

3.  To live with the light, believers must continually discern what pleases God.

4.  To live with the light, believers must not partake in darkness, but expose it.

5.  To live with the light, believers must convert darkness into light.

6.  To live with the light, believers must preach to the sleeping.

This web site exist to bring that light to all who will accept Jesus and let Him guide you.

Jerry Hunter – I am currently a group chaplain with my local police department. I am  a former hospital chaplain and formerly a chaplain with The Christian Resort Ministry.  I was baptized in my youth, but drifted away from the Lord for many years! After those many years God started calling me back, and I answered His call. When the Lord helps you make a turnaround in life, we want to praise Him. When He brings you through a difficult season, we want to testify to His faithfulness. When we come to a place of fresh commitment to Him, we should tell others all He has done. I want to work to lead others to Him.
